Are you
Protected! Numerous companies have
seen the benefit of installing anti-shatter film after seeing what devastation
flying glass can cause from past atrocities. Many films fitted in the 1980's
and early 1990's have reached the end of their useful life and, subject to
current security requirements, should be replaced. Deficiencies include poor
adhesion, loss of strength and embrittlement due to ultra violet degradation.
Although some of these films may have some effective life left many of films
are only 100 micron (.004") compared to the current recommendation of at least
175 micron (.007") in thickness.
As part of our glazing protection appraisal we can test the efficacy
of such films using methods as developed by the PSA/SPS/EEB. The latest safety
security films, as well as having a 'longer life', are available not only in
clear but in a range of reflective and tinted shades. |
